Meeting of the Melvin Library

Those present were Marsha Slack, Lynn Duke, Donna Courtright, Diane Dawson,
Donna Douglas, Stephanie McPherson and Forrest Steinberg.

Meeting was brought to order by President Lynn Duke.
The minutes from the last meeting were read by Lynn Duke. Donna Courtright accepted the
minutes. The second came from Diane Dawson. All votes yes. MC.
The financial report for August and September was presented by Treasurer Donna Courtright.
The motion to accept the report came from Diane Dawson. The second from Lynn Duke.
All votes yes. MC.
New Business to Discuss
Marsha has filled out the technology report.
Marsha will order a phone and fax machine. Marsha is working with Nathan on ordering
a computer and printer.
Library website and Facebook are doing well.
The Tax Levy Request was reviewed. The Tax Levy Request is for 40,654.02. Motion to accept
came from Stephanie McPherson. The second from Forrest Steinberg. All voted yes. MC.
Board Members signed Tax Levy Request.
Illinois minimum wage will increase in January. It was decided that librarian wages will increase
by a dollar. Starting in January of 2025 (Marsha - $17 and Cheryl - $15). Motion to accept came
from Donna Douglas. The second from Donna Courtright. All voted yes. MC.
Librarian Christmas bonuses were discussed for this upcoming Christmas of 2024 (Marsha -
$50 and Cheryl - $25). Motion to accept came from Donna Courtright. The second by Donna
Douglas. All voted yes. MC.
Having no other business. Diane Dawson made the motion to adjourn. Seconded by Forrest
Steinberg.

Special Meeting of the Melvin Public Library

Those present were Marsha Slack, Lynn Duke, Donna Courtright, Diane Dawson,
Donna Douglas, Stephanie McPherson and Forrest Steinberg.
Meeting was brought to order by President Lynn Duke.

Meeting was called for the sole purpose of reviewing and modifying the 2025 Tax Levy
Request originally voted on and accepted on October 28 th , 2024.

Tax Levy Request was reviewed. Original numbers were incorrect. Tax Levy request
should be $36,258.31. Motion to accept came from Donna Courtright. The second by
Donna Douglas. All voted yes. MC. Board Members signed the modified Tax Levy
Request.

Hearing no other business. Diane Dawson made the motion to adjourn. Seconded by
Forrest Steinberg.
